MICROCLIMATIC SHOWCASES

The microclimatic display cases produced by SIT are manufactured with the most stable and efficient materials and include the system that provides the best watertightness as well as the safest accessories to preserve the works inside.

In order to reach the highest standards in preservation, testing and perfecting our systems and exhibition equipment, SIT has participated during the last years in three European research projects funded by the European Commission (PROPAINT in EU FP6, MEMORI and NANOforART in EU FP7).

Our workshop in Madrid integrates and tests the systems to ensure adequate stability and efficiency in relative humidity, temperature, lighting and safety. It is also at our headquarters where we take care of the finer details and finishes made by craftsmen who work exclusively for SIT.

MICROCLIMATIC FRAMES MCframe

Environmental parameters are usually stable in the environment of works of art except when certain circumstances occur, for example during transport, transit storage, temporary exhibition or seasonal changes that may cause fluctuations in humidity and temperature. These changes can be prevented and minimized by using one of the MCframe MICROCLIMATE FRAMES.

  • Each microclimatic frame is designed and built for your specific site.
  • It is manufactured with museum quality materials in the individual size and shape for the job site.
  • All MCframes include state-of-the-art laminated safety and anti-glare glass.

Preventive Conservation

Our MCframes contain a mini datalogger to record RH and T parameters, so that readings can be downloaded at any time to verify the ranges.

    Air Quality

MCframes can include dosimeters and valves to measure the air quality inside the MCframes and detect the presence of contaminants in laboratory tests.

    Air Exchange Rate

The objective of a Mcframe is to achieve a high level of airtightness by reducing air exchange with the outside.

    Appearance

The appearance of an MCframe should be as integrated as possible to the original and historical framing of the work.
