Until 17 December you can enjoy the new exhibition “Ensoñación de la materia” by the Madrid artist Pablo Palazuelo (1915-2007); an exhibition that will fill the interior and exterior spaces of this wonderful century-old winery located in La Rioja.

The exhibition is organized with the collaboration of the Pablo Palazuelo Foundation, which is the custodian of the artist’s legacy, and curated by Alfonso de la Torre, art theorist and critic, a specialist in contemporary Spanish art.

It includes a total of twelve large sculptures made of Corten steel and located outside the winery; nineteen large paintings hung in the interior rooms, and an interview filmed with Pierre Dumayet in the 1970s.

This is the first time that his monumental sculptures have been exhibited together with his paintings, making it a very special exhibition for both the artist and the winery that is hosting it.

Pablo Palazuelo is a multidisciplinary artist, considered an international benchmark of 20th century Spanish abstract art, whose works are exhibited in different centres such as the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Centre Pompidou and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

The SIT Spain team had the privilege of transporting and assembling these marvellous works, which were loaned by the Pablo Palazuelo Foundation, a non-profit cultural foundation whose aim since 2007 has been to perpetuate the artist’s legacy by making his work accessible.

It was a demanding job, as, due to the large size of some works, it was necessary to use a 90-tonne crane truck to move and install them.

A good reason to organize a trip to the CVNE winery, located in the heart of the Haro station district in La Rioja!
